Nick Nick Lovegreen

My name is Nick Lovegreen, and I'm the part-time youth worker at the project. I began working here in April 2001 - since then I've carried out work with young people using mural projects, the Independent Living Skills Course, young people's meetings, detached sessions and activity planning. More recently I've developed a Men's group, but the activity I find most interesting here is the conversation and dialogue that takes place during the drop-in. The subjects of these can often be wild, unpredictable and funny, but the learning that takes place for everyone during these is often invaluable.

I completed a degree in fine art in 1995, but am currently studying for a diploma in Informal and Community Education by distance learning. My previous experience includes work as a community artist, work with young offenders, multi-cultural youth groups and general part-time youth work (if there is such a thing!?) - all in Newcastle. Away from the project I enjoy painting, walking (abroad preferably!), football and good films.

tracyTracy Morgan

Hello. I am Tracey Morgan a full-time youth worker at the project. I started here in February 1999. Since then I have worked with many young people in the drop-in, on detached sessions, individual support work and in-group work settings. This has been an interesting and fun time for me, especially the summer programmes and residentials.

I started my youth work career in Harrogate working with young people in residential care. Following on from this I went to Durham University, gaining a full time qualification in youth work in 1995. After this I worked in different organisations in Newcastle gaining experience in detached work, outreach work, work with girls & young women, sexual health, multi-agency work and project management, all of which have been especially useful here at B.Y.P.P.

I am from Kirkcudbright a small town in SouthWest Scotland. I have lived in Newcastle since 1996, a long time not to be a Newcastle United fan. I enjoy living and working here. Outside work I enjoy going out with friends, lounging, watching cheesy television and eating lots of chocolate.

paulPaul Thompson

My name is Paul Thomson and I have recently (spring 2002) joined BYPP from Newcastle City Council where I was the manager of a racial harassment project in the west-end of the city.

This does not tell the whole story as this is a return visit for me to Brunswick. I actually worked at the project ten years ago, so I am well aquainted with the project and its work. I am delighted to be back and I'm looking forward to reknewing old aquaintances and making new ones.
