Mission Statement
Brunswick
Young People's Project is based in the City centre of Newcastle and works
with young people, aged 16-25, to counterbalance the effects of poverty, unemployment,
homelessness and discrimination in its widest terms.
This is achieved through City Centre detached youth work, the provision of a drop-in and the establishing and encouraging of individual and group support. Brunswick Young People's Project is founded on the fundamental principles that underpin youth work.
As a project we believe that work with young people is a process of informal education, both political and social. The rationale for this approach is to empower young people, allowing them to take appropriate choices and gain greater control over the decisions affecting their lives.
